Discover Orlando’s Magical Dining 2024: A Food Lover’s Dream 8/16-9/30

Orlando Magical Dining

Every year, food enthusiasts in Orlando look forward to one of the city’s most exciting culinary events: Magical Dining. Hosted annually, this dining extravaganza offers locals and visitors alike the opportunity to indulge in multi-course meals at some of the city’s top restaurants for a fraction of the usual price. I have participated each year since 2007. And Each year with new and old restaurants I get excited!

What is Magical Dining?

Magical Dining is an annual event where participating restaurants offer a specially curated three-course prix-fixe menu, this year, priced at around $40-$60 per person. This limited-time event, typically running from late summer to early fall, is perfect for anyone looking to explore Orlando’s vibrant dining scene without breaking the bank. Not only is it a chance to try new dishes, but a portion of the proceeds also goes towards local charities, making it a meal with a purpose.

Why You Should Try It

Whether you’re a local foodie or a tourist looking for a memorable meal, Magical Dining is an amazing opportunity to experience fine dining at affordable prices. From steakhouses to modern American cuisine, seafood to international flavors, there’s something for every palate. I loved picking out many fine dining restaurants that I have always wanted to try but not break the bank.

This Year I Visited:

Dinner at Chayote Barrio Kitchen-Winter Park, FL

1. Chayote Barrio Kitchen (Latin Cuisine):

This restaurant has only been open for one year and it is Chayote’s first year participating in Magical Dining. They are eager to show off their fusion of traditional and new flavors to LatinX cuisine. My experience there was nice! I spent way more than $60 (because of the many Blueberry Pina Colada drinks), but it was worth it. I had Cangrejo: lump crab cake, iberico aoli, watercress, mango papaya salsa (full price $28 on regular menu) as my appetizer. For my main course, I had a Costilla: beef short ribs, boniato white yam, guava glaze, and shallot rings. For dessert I had a Chololate Torta with a rum banana raisin ice cream, hazelnut sauce.

***This blog post will keep being updated as I visit more restaurants. ***
